Stand for the Truth!

If you look at the direction that our society and culture in the United States are headed, all I can say is WOW. I ask myself, are there any people of integrity, honesty, and truthfulness left in politics? Where did our values and morals as a country go? Why are there so many fighting for things that make no sense, that have no moral base, no logic, and are not based on any truth? I have watched many videos over the past couple of months and have seen the rage in people, people who do not know the truth, people who have swallowed the lie of wokeness, who hate and are totally oblivious to any truth. Again, as I look at our political leaders who have no morals, little understanding of the truth, and whose ethics are based on the fad of the month, I wonder what God is doing to this once a great nation. The Bible clearly talks about and discusses everything you see happening before our very eyes. Proverbs is a wonderful book for understanding the mind of those who fight against the wisdom of the Bible.

Proverbs 6:16-19 (ESV) states: There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

This shows the dire need of people today for the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. They are dead in their trespass and transgressions against God, and they love their hedonistic comforts.

Romans 1:28-32 (ESV): And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

We can clearly see in our culture today that few people are seeking a selfless life, a life filled with serving others, helping the poor, and doing what is right/moral. They are focused on themselves and only what they want or need (what a sad statement of the society we live in today).

Galatians 9 19-21 (ESV) states: Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

As you watch the news, talk to others, investigate what is going on today, you can see this deep-seated love for hedonism and individualisms (basically humanism). For many, self-worship, self- love, is leading them to a culture of nihilism and despair. To make matters worse, it is being mixed with soft totalitarianism which forces us on a journey, an anti-Christian journey (a journey of hate and division). We are being forced down this road because our nation has lost the concept of truth and replaced it with hypocrisy, lies, lust, money, and a desire to serve the mob (where anything goes). My heart has been broken for all the people who do not know the truth, or even pretend to understand it anymore. With our current government, university systems, the media, and the elite institutions constantly telling lies, chaos and hypocrisy are becoming the norms. This is driving our once great nations in a direction of soft totalitarianism (people no longer trust anything). These organization and the people who drive them want to define a new truth, a truth that benefits them, and will eventually destroy us all (it is called soft totalitarianism). We can look toward where these people are headed and see the journey before us. They are pushing us in the direction of Socialism, Marxism, and Communism, saying that this needs to happen to have a utopia society (they want to improve us). But what they fail to share, is that this has been tried for hundreds of years, by different countries, and has never worked (tens of millions of people have died in this experiment – and it never works).

I struggle on what can be done, and how we as Christians should proceed to stop this violent attack against Christianity and our lives. Well, we can start by looking at Ephesians.

Ephesians 4:17-32 (ESV): Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

We can no longer give into the culture, to being woke, to the lies, and to the hypocrisy.

We must stand apart, stand for what we believe in, and stand for the truth, and tell everyone there is only one truth, and that truth is found in the Bible. Friends, let us stand for what is right, for the truth, and do not give in to the mob, wokeness, soft totalitarianism or anything else that pushes us away from our freedom in Christ (let everyone know where you stand)!
