As we watch and see what is going on in society today, a clear picture starts to emerge on what the far left is really trying to do. We begin to understand why they are telling so many lies, encouraging confusion and chaos, and denying the truth at every turn. The picture reveals how the left desires to bring in a new age, an age moving from post modernism into a new era of socialistic hedonism (the replacement of God with a corrupt government and the pursuit of pleasure as defined by the individual). They are taking components from communism, socialism, totalitarianism, hedonism, and their sinful, depraved mind to form the foundation of socialistic hedonism (total rebellion against God).

To define socialistic hedonism, we first must understand the definitions of socialism and hedonism. Merriam-Webster defines socialism as: “Any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.” They go on to further define hedonism as: “The doctrine that pleasure or happiness is the sole or chief good in life.” So, if you combine the two, the definition will look something like this. The individuals in power, who defines their own truth, focus on individual pleasure or happiness, while using the government to force their agenda/will on all those around them. Where do we see this, you might ask? Well, it begins with teaching students in the university system to think in a Post Modernism context which leads naturally to an era of socialistic hedonism. Post Modernism defined by Britannica states:

Postmodernism, also spelled post-modernism, in Western philosophy, a late 20th- century movement characterized by broad skepticism, subjectivism, or relativism; a general suspicion of reason; and an acute sensitivity to the role of ideology in asserting and maintaining political and economic power.

This focus on skepticism, subjectivism, relativism, and suspicion of reason has led the academic and political elites to believe that THEY define their own truth (and that they know how to run the nation based on their truth). The infiltration of Post Modernism into our leading universities and academic systems for decades has been changing how the truth should be defined (now we are seeing the results). We have moved from the postmodern era to a socialistic hedonistic era. Once we view our society/culture through these lenses, we can better understand what is going on. We can start to understand why the LGBTQ+ movement is so prominent, why everything is about race and white supremacy, why critical race theory is important to the far left, and why we have so many corrupt politicians, TV networks, etc. Because they are a product of what our culture has been promoting, and the message is loud and clear, that we should all define our own truth while seeking pleasure (this should not surprise us). Since at an early age, these people have been indoctrinated in post modernism ideology, which leads nicely into the era of socialistic hedonism. Many of these people believe that the only important things in life are themselves, what they want (pleasure/happiness), what they believe (no centralized truth), there is no God but only themselves, and the only way to force changes is through a corrupted government and violence. Romans shows us clearly how this process works (as I have shared before).

Romans 1:18-27 (ESV). For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,[g] in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Well, we cannot blame anyone but ourselves for allowing the secularization of our educational institutions as we know them today. We all have been seeing this, turning our heads, and allowing our children to attend these schools and learn these crazy ideas. We (Christian believers) have allowed these sinful educational institutions to take a prominent place in our society today. How many of us have been in these classes, and not stood up for the truth? We have all been a part of allowing the educational system in the United States to focus their liberal arts programs on post modernism, which easily ushers in the age of socialistic hedonism. Well, what can we do now? Those who have the podiums can stand on the solid foundation of scripture and teach the truth. Others can challenge those around them to think critically and logically with a focus on the biblical truth. We can look toward 2 Timothy for some help.

2 Timothy 2: 14-26 (ESV): Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have swerved from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened. They are upsetting the faith of some. But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.” Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

We all can teach what sin is and demonstrate what a God-fearing society looks like. We can stand against this post modernism, which leads to an era of socialistic hedonism that is taking over our society. We can tell everyone there is a truth and that the truth will set them free (and the truth matters for all of us – Christians/non-Christians). We can engage in our universities and educational institutions and help them move away from all these lies that they believe are the truth. We can support those universities and educational intuitions that proclaim the truth, promote open debate, support the marketplace of ideas, and teach students to think for themselves. We have a lot of work to do, so let’s all get busy.
