A New Day

Winter has finally come with the first snow of the year covering the fields of Pennsylvania.  The snow covers everything in its path like a mighty blanket spreading across the landscape.  The snow gently covers the grass, the bushes, the sand, the dirt, rocks, and everything in its path.  This is similar to how sins can cover our lives without us even realizing it.  As time progresses, sin works in our lives to cause pain and suffering.  But, as the morning sun shines brightly on the snow, the snow takes in the warmth and melts, and a day begins.  The warmth of the sun melts the snow, and eventually, everything that the snow has covered will be shown again.  Once the snow is gone, everything covered is revealed in a fresh new way.  This is a good reminder for Christians to let the light of Christ shine warmly and brightly in our lives.  When the light of Christ shines in our hearts each day we feel the warmth of the light of God.  It melts away all the hurts, the pain, the sadness, the depression, the regret, and the pain of life.  The light of Christ not only heals our hearts but also melts away the sin that hinders us each and every day.  The light of Christ reveals our entire life, a life in need of healing, and forgiveness, from the power of sin and the challenges of life.  As we meditate on God's words today, let his light shine brightly in your heart, melting away all the pain, hurts, and challenges and replacing them with warmth, love, hope, and joy.
